Flower Cupcake Decorating
PIPING A FLOWER CUPCAKE
Flower cupcake decorating is a fun craft, pretty easy to do, and showcases your talent for decorating cupcakes and or cakes. The top of a cupcake is the perfect spot to plant an icing flower! The circular surface nail on which you can pipe petals is for a larger-than-life blossom. This technique will also work for larger petal tips, such as tip 125 used here. Try your favorite petal shapes to create your fantasy flower.
Hold the cupcake in your hand as you pipe petals with your other hand. Use tip 125 and medium consistency buttercream, holding bag at 45° angle. Touch the cupcake with the wide end of the tip, keeping the narrow end slightly above the surface. Turn cupcake slightly counterclockwise as you move the tip out toward the edge. Relax pressure as you return to the base of the petal, carefully curving the tip slightly upward to create a curve pedal. Continue piping a row of petals on the edge of cupcake. Angle the cupcake as needed.
Repeat with the second row of petals, slightly inside the first row.
Add a third row of petals slightly inside the second row. Pipe tip three dot center or add, yellow Sugar Pearls for the center.
