Tacos – A Mexican Favorite
Taco for a meal can’t be beat. I love tacos. Tacos rank with burgers, ice cream sandwiches, and french fries, and sundaes for their versatility and their tastiness, and rightly so. They are easy to make. Inexpensive to make. And easy to customize, and deeply, intensely satisfying.
Taco, a traditional Mexican dish is composed of a wheat or corn tortilla (a small soft, thin flatbread made from finely ground wheat flour then folded or rolled around a delicious filling. A taco includes a variety of fillings, including chicken, pork, beef, seafood, cheese and lots of vegetables, allowing for great versatility and variety. A taco is usually accompanied by complimenting garnishes such as salsa, avocado or guacamole, cilantro (coriander), tomatoes, minced meat, onions and lettuce and usually eaten with the fingers.

A salsa recipe that will spruce up those leftover corn tortillas is worth treasuring. It’s a perfect snack idea for those days when cooking is not on your mind. If you have a handy grill by your side, feel free to toss some ingredients in, and Voila! You shall have a scrumptious platter in no time.

In a large bowl, throw in your favorite salsa ingredients – think of diced mangoes, tomatoes, red bell pepper, finely chopped cilantro and jalapenos. Do not forget to season these ingredients with salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder. Toss them well then put these ingredients aside.
Next, put the leftover corn tortillas over medium flame and grill them until they turn golden-brown. The tricky part is not to overcook or burn your tortillas.
Finally, plate the tortilla slices and generously add the salsa topping and other flavored seasonings.
Your tacos are ready. A suggestion for leveling up the flavor of your topping is to grill some mushrooms and add them to the seasoned vegetables.

1. 1 lb of ground beef or chicken cubed
2. one head of lettuce
3. one taco seasonings envelope
4. 1 onion
5. 3 tomatoes
6. 1 package of taco shredded cheese
7. one bottle of green goddess salad dressing
8. one large bag of chips, Fritos, Doritos (cheesy nacho flavor usually works best)
To Create the taco salad:
Brown the ground beef or the chicken in a large sauce pan over medium heat, then, add taco seasoning and then let the meat cool.
Shred a head of lettuce, chop up the onion and tomato into small pieces and add to a large bowl.
Add the shredded cheese, ground beef, and your favorite dressing
Add the Doritos, Fritos or any crunchy chip after breaking into small pieces.
This recipe is not only delicious; it can be quite healthy, even healthier if you add a considerable amount of vegetables to your recipe.
