Wood Pallet Utensil Holder
DIY Wood Pallet Utensil Holder
Wood pallets are those bulky things that stores use to ship merchandise, but did you know they can be used for dozens of doing it yourself projects? Making wood pallets being no exception, this is fun and easy do it yourself that friends will all be asking you where you bought it. Made from wood pallets, each box, is simple, and requires only five pieces, one is the bottom, two long skinny pieces for the front and back of the holder and two small squares and the sides. Trust me on this, that you won’t want to make just one, so don’t throw away your scrap wood just yet. You can make a few of these and give them out as gifts. Paint them to give them an additional flair, or you could fill them making it a gift basket for friends and family on birthdays or holidays!
First, add wood glue to the end of one of the long front pieces and glue it to a side piece.
Then reinforce the glue with a few nails.
Repeat the last two steps on the opposite side.
Flip the box upside down and glue the sides to the bottom, reinforcing with nails just like we did above.
(Optional) For a weathered look to make your box look even more unique, stain with wood finish, and let it dry. Then sand the wood.
(Optional) Now you have a choice to add handles to your box for a rustic look. To do so, simply drill a large enough hole and place the handles in, attaching a nut to the backside.
Lastly, add some decorative cups or pots inside your holder, and it is perfect for anything from holding utensils, to craft supplies! Let your imagination go wild. There are so many possibilities this cute little holder has!
Whether you have an outdoor bbq, camping, having a party, or everyday use, this DYI pallet utensil holder is a delightful addition for your outdoor entertaining.
